The EC7 material represents an equivalent lead-free alternative to the standard alloy RG7 (CC493K). The material can thus be used for the same applications as the lead containing standard alloy. At medium hardness, it has good emergency running properties and sufficient wear resistance. Also suitable for use with unhardened shafts and light edge pressures. Easy to machine, creating short shavings, good corrosion resistance (also in sea water), soft and (conditionally) hard solderable. The main areas of application are plain bearings and bushes for general mechanical engineering. |

Construction material. The main areas of application are water and steam fitting housings up to 255 °C, pump housings and thin-walled, intricate castings and machined parts for mechanical and apparatus engineering and shipbuilding. Is usually replaced as a bearing material with Cu Sn7 Zn4 Pb7-C today. |

Most common, low-budget gunmetal alloy for plain bearings. Still has good dry-running properties and sufficient wear resistance at medium hardness. Also suitable when unhardened shafts and light edge pressure are used. Short-chipping material, good machinability, good corrosion resistance (even in seawater), soft solderable and to a limited extent hard solderable. The main areas of application are plain bearings and bearing bushings for general mechanical engineering.. |
